Dear Hoxsie Hawks,

Congratulations to the graduating class of 2020!

This certainly has been an interesting school year.  The first 6 and one half months were going so smoothly until the COVID-19 pandemic forced us into Distance Learning for the rest of the school year.  One thing has been constant: EVERYONE has been all in. I have never been more proud to be a part of a community where students are ALWAYS first. The level of camaraderie, empathy, understanding and effort has been inspiring. Your partnership has meant the world to the Hoxsie staff. Through this global pandemic we have united more than ever before.

I would like to say Thank You to all of the parents for your continued support which is so greatly appreciated.  I would also like to say Thank You to all of the amazing Hoxsie teachers and staff members.  The dedication, commitment and compassion that you show our students everyday is so impressive and makes me so proud!  I would also like to say Thank You to all of the students who come to school every day ready to learn, grow and mature.

A HUGE shout out also goes to our amazing PTO that is always there to support our teachers and students.  Your dedication to our school is so tremendously appreciated.  They planned amazing activities such as:  Color Run, Boo Bash, Holiday Shoppe, Family Movie Night, Ladies Choice Dance, Gook Fair, Len Cabral storyteller assembly and the Virtual Talent Show.  These events truly helped to make school not only educational but so much fun!!

I would like to wish the 5th graders all the best as they move on to middle school.  Be sure to remember the three R’s (Respect, Responsibility and Readiness) as they are important words to live by throughout your lives and they will help you Soar to the Top!  Be sure to also remember to be Kind to everyone!  People will not remember how smart or funny you are but they will remember your kindness.

Have a great and safe summer!

Mr. McCoombs
