January 2023
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something.” —Neil Gaiman

Upcoming Staff Development and Training
Your Title I team will be virtually attending The National ESEA Conference coming up in February. This national conference is intentionally aimed at coordination among federal education programs under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and other federal programs to unite and address a shared goal - how to best meet the needs of disadvantaged students. We will have the ability to learn from and network with nationally recognized education leaders and experts. Throughout the four-day agenda, we will choose from over 130 sessions from today’s leading education experts who will deliver timely, impactful information enhanced by personal experience. We’re all looking forward to another enriching learning opportunity!
January Coffee Hours
We have another round of coffee hours at each school coming up at the end of this month, all of these events are included on the school events calendar on their website. During our January meetings, we will take a look at our Family Engagement Policy as it’s written within the Every Student Succeeds Act, and we will discuss how our budget is utilized. You may or may not be aware that through Title I, your child’s elementary school is provided some extra funding to support student achievement. Attending the coffee hour at your child’s school this month will give you an opportunity to provide valuable insight as to how those funds should be utilized at your child’s school ahead of the budget process for the next school year. Don’t miss this opportunity! We will have an evening opportunity to discuss the budget and Title I initiatives Wednesday, March 1st as well, further details to come.
